$Mintos Risk Score does not cover basic risks types, such as currency volatility... worthless really, as Wowwo case shows. The platform should be avoided, because it gives no other credit risk filters on the platform apart from their insufficient Risk Score so it exposes you to junk bond risk at half the junk bond rates (as the recent bond placements by several Mintos LO's made on East European and Moscow exchanges have showed).

$Viventor clients were venting their anger at TrustPilot (worst rating of any p2p company I invested in), but the funds held in transit have arrived... My only problem is that "recovery fees" collected by Viventor exceeded the total amount of interest I earned at this portal.

Flender has started charging monthly acct maintenance fee like a proper bank (but not really, as requires some uninvested funds, so you cannot debit the acct with it). For an acct size of say 1200 EUR it amounts to cutting annual interest rate by 1 pp... #hidden fees

You are pointing people to the old Monestro here: p2p.holdings/monestro ... The new and improved one has a different website URL, does NOT have auto-invest, and its rates are 10-10.8%, not 20%...

Anonymous

Viventor now holds most of investor's funds "in transit", so it seems that LOs have been forced to return the money immediately, but they could not. This just demonstrates that management had no forecasting ability... so they created a "credit crunch" for their loan suppliers...

Anonymous

The double-digit returns for EstateGuru (advertised here: p2p.holdings/estateguru) are NOT real! They have no (lossless) buyback and their default rate on the outstanding portfolio is similar to their advertised return (see estateguru.co/portal/home/statistics).

$Viventor sends out emails warning users that "account maintenance fee" will be charged (in the full amount of all available free cash!!) on the free funds available in the account on 2021-11-02 (except for funds that would be received after this email). They must be scared as hell of the regulatory penalties for continuing brokerage activities without a license...:)

Iute credit is withdrawing from $Mintos (who can blame them for preferring to issue bonds at a lower cost). It's just a case of negative selection in terms of credit quality of these LOs that still remain... whereas negative selection in terms of capacity (deal flow) is when Mintos LOs set up their own websites (with double the interest rate).

Anonymous

EstateGuru is introducing buyback... of sorts, because it comes with a 35% (!) haircut, which means write-off probability is lower (by their fee). If you, like me, have relied on their auto-invest and as a result of lending to multiple stages of the same bad loan ("our devs are too busy to fix the bug", said their rep untruthfully, because they fixed many other bugs I reported) you have now a double-digit default rate (me: 11%), this new buyback makes their platform still profitable even at 1 year horizons, but even less so than Bondora... (1.10 * 0.89 + 0.65 * 0.11 - 1= 0.0505 vs. 0.0675 at Bondora). And the buyback also does not apply where it's most needed - to non-Baltic loans like those from Sweden and Spain (try to filter these countries out if you haven't still done so).

Anonymous

[FEATURE REQUEST] Could you add "minimum withdrawal amount" and "withdrawal fee" (at least as T/F checkboxes)? Some of these platforms should really be flagged for their greedy practices (or use badly designed nudges), like 50 EUR withdrawal minimum at Lendermarket or 1.5 or 1.0 or 0.5 EUR exit fees at Viventor, Estateguru, and Omaraha, respectively (only NEO Finance has a reasonable fee of 0.29). All these practices are risk increasing, as they make portfolio rebalancing more difficult.

Any feedback on that idea that Mintos has about offering ETFs?
I personally have a hard time understanding the move. One they will face well-established competition, that have already studied their prices left-to-right to offer the lowest possible. Two, they have yet to fully finish (debug, optimize, etc...) the loans platform, and would have to dedicate time and resources away from that. And three, I don't see why investors interested in ETFs would not diversify if they are using Mintos for loans, by using a different platform for ETFs, it's not like they aren't a lot of choices out there for that...
These are just the big ones, off the top of my head...

Any chance to have an interview to dig specifically into that issue?

Moncera has dropped their interest rates by 3 pp, and there are no credit score filters on their website either, so probably junk loans are included too... they are currently lower than they would be (as they no longer are) on Mintos for companies with the same credit worthiness of 8, for which 2/3 of loans financed on Mintos are at 8%-10%.

October seems to have "solved" the insufficient deal flow problem in the same way as Mintos did pre-Covid: bring on more originators! This results in sdverse / no real selection of projects in terms of risk/reward: apart from several negative equity (i.e. living dead) companies they offer junk-level C-rated business loans (to companies with more debt than equity) at an Earth-shattering 2% (that's two, not twenty percent, and no gov't guarantees either):

$Do Finance has redefined Buyback as an option, and no longer obligation...
"What Is A Buyback And Who Provides It?
A BuyBack is an option issued by the Loan Originator to the investor for a particular loan. It confirms that the Loan Originator can repurchase the loan from the investor if repayment of a particular loan is delayed 60 days. It is not an obligation, but a right that under normal market conditions the Loan Originator will execute."

Hi team,

I've received mail yesterday that Mintos is no longer offering the Trustly service (and with that Ideal for Dutch investors) for money transfers to Mintos accounts.
Instead the only way to transfer money to my account is by bank transfer right now.

What are your ideas on that decision?

In my mind this is a step in the other direction for a company that presents itself as an innovative fintech when they no longer offer secure online ways to transfer money. Looking forward to your ideas on that

Hi Luis,

Thank you for your message and the information provided.

Please, allow me to elaborate on the Cashwagon situation.

Cashwagon holding company in Singapore entered liquidation. The same happened in Indonesia.

In the Philippines, liquidation/bankruptcy is about to begin. The Management is removed and the company is run by the liquidator team.

In Vietnam portfolio is DPD 1 year+, no collections are taking place there. Most likely Vietnam will be part of the Group liquidation at some point. Unfortunately, the liquidator cannot tell when that will happen.

Hello Kristaps,
Want to point out that $Ecrowd! (ecrowdinvest.com) doesn't have 'autoinvest'. On the other hand I think it's not a big deal in this particular case provided the low rate on adding new funding options (4 or 8 a year), so you can deal with it manually.
As an investor you receive an email on each new funding opportunity, so you can go there and do your due diligence and decide picking one by one.
Great job

Regarding the numbers for Peerberry LO Smart Pozyczka, I understand they consist of two companies (LTU Finance Sp z.o.o. and Pixo Sp z.o.o.). Seems you were only looking at LTU when writing down the numbers for 2019, overlooking Pixo. And for 2020 numbers, I understand Pixo has reported and LTU not yet.

Hello kristaps and great work !

Since I invest on these platforms in direct contact with their team I would like to help you with some details :
$AxiaFunder : investments can only be done in £, euro will be accepted in 6-12months min. Your portfolio system don't allow to display result in £
$Wecity : investments can only be done by spain resident i.e. spanish people or foreigner with NIE : www.exteriores.gob.es/Portal/en/ServiciosAlCiudadano/InformacionParaExtranjeros/Paginas/NIE.aspx

And I think I have found a problem. When you are connected and click on P2P.holdings "portfolio" on the left colum menu (p2p.holdings/portfolio), it goes to your portfolio and you can't see others public portfolio, you have to be disconnected.

Hope these informations can be useful for your fantastic work :)

Maybe I miss something in my analysis but I don't see where the trust or moderate enthusiasm for Viainvest comes from . It's true they are audited (2019) but the financial situation in terms of debt to equity is bad since years for both LO and platform. Happy if anyone can convince me of the contrary.

Aforti Finance on Mintos has very old financials published, as you also mention on p2p.holdings/mintos/loan-originators .

However the Aforti Holding regularly publishes its financials of their Capital Group (as they are listed on the stock exchange this is also mandatory). They however consolidate a lot of their sub companies in 1 overview. The consolidation consists of Aforti Holding S.A., Aforti Finance S.A., Aforti Finance Romania IFN S.A., Aforti Collections S.A, Aforti Capital Sp. z o.o., Aforti Factor S.A., Aforti Ac Sp. z o.o., Aforti Exchange S.A., Aforti Exchange Romania S.A., and Aforti PLC - which makes it impossible to see the actual numbers on the Finance branch.

I have been called by the Spanish National High Court to testify before the judicial police, at the request of the Baltic judge who is handling the case against Wisefund.
It seems those Spaniards that are Wisefund investors and wish to declare themselves victims. At the moment to residents of Madrid because the National Court is in Madrid.
It appears (and I am surprised) that the judge has found evidence of pyramid activity.
Another thing, it seems that the judges do not trust (or do not find correct) the statements of victims made electronically before the Armada-type platforms and require a statement before the police. One of the things is that it seems that the attacked are defending themselves telling that the declarants sign declarations in English without it having been demonstrated that they understand what they are signing .

Hi,

great site, easy to use. As for portfolio another column of money at risk or in recovery would be very useful to asses real portfolio value or possible XIRR.

Anonymous

Hi Kristaps,

Fantastic site you have created, a one-stop shop for p2p platforms info was really needed.
Might I suggest allowing reviews from "trusted" reviewers in the area, in the same way analysts give their "opinions" on stocks & co., possibly not just on platforms but also on their lending companies?

Would you mind taking a look at these loans on Mintos:

Issue date well in the past, only 2 installments remaining when listed, with the last one being much larger due to the "Partial" loan type.
It seems Mogo is using Mintos to shift risk onto p2p investors when they lose confidence that borrowers will be able to repay that last large installment. I can't see any other reason to post such loans on the platform just as they are close to finishing?
Mogo is the main lending company doing this, but others may be too.
It previously was easy to avoid investing in old loans with the "Issue Date" filter, but now Mintos is removing said filter, leaving me to wonder how much of a coincidence that is... I would consider the risk on these loans completely unreasonable compared to "regular" loans.

I sent a request to Mintos, but as always, they just answer "thanks for feedback, sending to relevant team, blablabla...".
However, your voice has a much bigger impact/reach in the area than little-old-me.

Your thoughts?

ottret

In the P2P Platforms. What does yes and no stands for under "Real?". Thought it was questionable platforms but Mintos also stands as "no". So now I'm not sure. =)
